3 Little Known Tricks To Convert More Website Traffic
September 29, 2008
Being an affiliate is one of the best deals going for most online marketers, but as more people try their hand at marketing products and services online, so the competition rises.
Nowadays, visitors are getting harder to come by as more and more options are available to them.
Therefore, it is paramount that we, as affiliate marketers are able to convert as many of these visitors into buyers.
After all, by converting more people we don’t have to spend so much time on hunting down more traffic to our sites and can increase our affiliate checks without overloading our bandwidth.
So the question is, what can you do today to increase affiliate commissions from the same amount of website visitors? Luckily, there are quite a few things you can do to increase the chances of a sale and improve your conversions, so let’s take a look…
1. Place your main offer in the top fold of the page
According to numerous tests, having the offer jammed right in the visitor’s face, such as in the header of the page, will increase the chances of a click, and a subsequent sale. Don’t worry about being obnoxious, people should still be able to easily access your content, but will repeatedly see the main offer first on every relevant page (preferably all pages of the same site).
2. Add more affiliate links with persuasive anchor text
It makes sense that the more times you ask for the sale (or just the click) then the more chances it will actually happen. The old adage of “If you don’t ask then you don’t get” always springs to mind here. Again, don't flood a page with links but add links inside the content and not just at the bottom of your pages or on the navigation bars. Furthermore, refrain from using links that just describe the product name or show the domain of the affiliated site. It’s far better to use anchor text such as “Get relief from your back pain today” than a simple link such as www.amazingwebsiteaboutbackpainrelief.us.uk
3. Create painful, focused content
It is far better to use content that ties in directly with the visitor’s pain and predominant problems. Therefore, the reader will feel more inclined to take action after being presold with your content. For example, you could write an article about the different types of back pain and a few ways to temporarily relieve it, but then provide plenty of affiliate links to the only real solution.
These are just some of the ways you can increase website conversions for affiliate offers, but I admit that they take time and effort to craft and test.
Creating content that presell’s people is a great affiliate marketing model, but by no means the easiest way to make large commissions from affiliate marketing.
Did you know that some of the biggest affiliate marketers online today don’t even need to create content to make affiliate sales? Furthermore, these same marketers are getting several thousand hits to their websites each week purely off the back of other people’s hard work…and most of these marketers don’t even own a domain name!
If you’d like to see what they are doing to get such lazy results, then check out what Alex Goad has brought out of the shadows recently. But be warned, it might make you sick with envy and seriously bruised from kicking yourself repeatedly…Click Here To Convert More Traffic Into Sales!
Ten Viral Marketing Strategies For Your Campaigns
September 28, 2008
When people are first getting started in trying to understand viral internet marketing they typically have a lot of questions as to what types of strategies and what methods actually work with viral marketing strategies.
Let’s take a quick little walk into the world of some of the most popular and top ways to use viral internet marketing selling to your advantage.
1. Firstly and no doubt most importantly, think beneficial…
The viral nature or aspect of the offer has to be very beneficial to the reciever. You can take a look at it anyway you want, but this is the top job. This, as with most things, is easier said than done. Whether it’s beneficial emotionally, monetarily, a gift or otherwise, this is the foundation of any viral campaign to take off.
Mind you, if this part was so easy to pull off..we’d never get any sleep because of the bombardment of viral spread. So, when you look at it…it’s really quite awesome that in reality it’s tough.
2. Reverse thinking in email marketing and blogging is something you can do. Always try and work your way backwards from your subject line or headline on your blog post.
The thing is..If not easy to implement and concise..and off the start, be sure to mention the benefits…it probably won’t work out for you virally.
3. From the saying that has been around for what seems forever…
K.I.S.S
Keep It Simple Stupid
Remember, you have to get a person’s interest fast. Confusion or destractions can’t play a part in your messages the viewer is recieving!
Right, but let’s be clever…but realize some people might not get it as easily as others.
Alright then, what ways do you think will help the reader to “take notice” and happily pass things on?
4. Well..this is no surprise and it shouldn’t come as one. Obviously, “Sex Sells”.
Of course it’s most likely NOT sex you will be selling. But, if you’d like to get a flow going..and create a bit of intrigue and curiousity..sneaky suggestive sexual inuendos can do the trick. These types of things let people have fun with thier friends and some can’t resist.
5. The funny bone has to be “got”! Humour works very well with viral ideas you’d like to spread. Don’t forget this. Think about how many commercials you’ve seen where you said to friends, “God, you have to see that commercial? It’s hilarious!”
6. Brand Or Name Leveraging- A very good way to use viral marketing is by leveraging well known figures, brands, people etc. For the most part, popular items or entities won’t require as much information. Something that is well known will help you identify on a more personal level with the recipient.
Be sure to check out all of the legal litigations of doing something like this though, before moving ahead with it.
7. A natural approach to getting your messages to take off is much better. Trying to hard has a nasty way of firing back at you, people dislike this sort of thing. People have pride and want to think they came up with the idea all on their own. If you have done your part on creating good viral marketing aspects, this will take care of itself.
8. What’s in the new or headlines? What’s popular?
If you can utilize already popular events it can help you to get your own thing happening. People are aleady talking about it. Try and use this to your advantage!
9. Everybody loves a mystery! Creating mystery or keeping people hanging with a viral marketing concept can only help get that interest happening. Of course, just like with everything else, in the end…come clean, or somebody might get po’d!
10. Think about reality. Advertising, corporate style, gives people a bad taste in their mouth at times. It’s better to come off with down home and more earthy viral message. Your messages will work better if people feel more comfort by being able to identify with the message easier.
Hype Buster: Affiliate Payload and Real Results
September 28, 2008
An evaluation of the myth surrounding Affiliate Payload by a real user who tested the advocated traffic strategies over a period (a note of caution is also sounded on the product).
Affiliate Payload is a Traffic Generation information package written and released by Saj P and Alex Goad. Whether Alex Goad compiled and presented the information in the package is unclear and Myth Buster suspects that Saj P did the research and presentations.
The package consists of videos and a portable document format document. The text is well researched and written, flows logically and contains more than ample references. The videos contain some show and tell examples and additional information, rambles and seem to be added as filler information, possibly as an afterthought.
A VIP one time offer up sell is made during the sales funnel process. The VIP information consists of additional downloadable videos that add an extra twist to each of the advocated traffic options.
The Product advocates generating traffic through various traffic broking and posting options with in depth discussions of Pay per Click, Pay per View, Cost per Action (including Cost per Lead, Cost per Impression and Cost per Sale), Incentivized Traffic Options, Co-Registration, Targeted Traffic Pools, Article / Blog / Forum Marketing and general Advertising.
Myth Buster launched a total of 5 highly niche targeted Traffic Buying campaigns (utilizing 4 of the advocated options) using the methodology outlined in Affiliate Payload. The campaigns consisted of PPC; PPV and TTP traffic options and included Incentive, Advertising, Reverse Demographics, Blog, Forum and Article mixes.
The product was tested for 5 days. Results were constantly monitored and adjustments were continuously made to improve the Click Through and Conversion Rates. A total of US $900 was spent on Traffic Generation with 12 hours of preparation and keyword research in 4 niche markets. Monitoring and adjustments took 2 hours per day over the 5 day period.
The Click through Rate was high for all Media Buying campaigns due to highly researched phrases and targeted keyword groups used. As expected, the targeted PPC and TTP campaigns returned a much higher conversion rate compared to the pure and combination PPV campaigns. The Incentive and Reverse Demographic campaigns performed above expectation and are currently subject to further research.
Myth Buster feels that Affiliate Payload does not completely consist of myth, and does deliver on the promised outcome. It is not a package for new marketers or persons inexperienced in Traffic Buying techniques. A cautionary note must be sounded here that the traffic generation methods advocated by Affiliate Payload can lead to above average loss of profit if they are not properly managed / controlled and constantly adjusted.
None of the individual Media Buying strategies are new. The Business Edge is found in the unique application and implementation of these strategies. If these are implemented in a creative manner any person doing business via e-promotion will secure more than sufficient traffic at a very reasonable cost with the prospect of making money.
How to Build a Profitable eBay Affiliate Web Site
September 25, 2008
There is an exciting and easy to use PHP script that has been on the market for a while called Build A Niche Store, better known as BANS. This script will allow you to make a niche website selling products through eBay’s affiliate programs. eBay, in my opinion, has one of the best affiliate programs, with payouts of 50% of eBay’s revenue. BANS lets you create your own eBay affiliate website very quickly, and you do not have to carry inventory or ship any products. Moreover, your site looks like an eBay page, and you have the option to customize it even further as well. The script comes with 8 or 9 template styles for you to customize, but I personally do not use them. There are individuals making BANS templates that are very inexpensive, often in the $10.00 to $15.00 range, and most of them are really attractive. In addition, you can further monetize your site by placing other affiliate banners or text in the sidebars There are many arguments and opinions on placing Google Adsense on these sites, and my personal opinion is not to do so. I’ll explain why a little later in the article.
Before you begin your first, or any site, let me add a word of caution based on my experience. I have been using BANS for about 10 months, and the absolute most important thing you must do first is to research the product niche and keywords that you will use to promote. Don’t pick a niche just because a certain keyword has 10,000 searches a month, for instance. Your competition is going to be intense and it is doubtful that you will place in the top 10 on a Google search for that particular search term in your lifetime. Do the research and look for those lower number of searches, but still high enough to warrant putting up a web site. My own rule of thumb now is at least 50 searches a day and under 50,000 competing sites. Three or four of my first sites that I put up, my research, or lack thereof, was not done properly and I chose keywords that were far too competitive, and as a result, the sites don’t do well at all. I’ll work on those later…I enjoy working on new sites right now and average one new site each week. Also, and extremely important, is to get your site linked with inbound links as early and quickly as possible. I have not done any reciprocal linking with my BANS sites, and have had some indexed in about 10 days, using other methods of linking.
After you do extensive and proper research and find a niche, then it is time to purchase a domain name, and not before. Try to get a domain name that contains your primary keyword, and yet is easy to remember. I personally only purchase .com or .net TLD’s, and it usually isn’t difficult to find a .com. Often times, when those names and the many variations of your primary keyword aren’t available, that particular niche might be too saturated. The next thing you have to do is find a web host that works well with BANS. I had to change several of my early sites as they didn’t function properly with the hosting company. The two hosts that I use now for BANS are Bluehost and Hostgator, with Bluehost being my favorite. They have everything that you need for BANS Ver. 3, and setup is extremely easy. I’m not an affiliate of either one, so this is a Free plug for them.
A word of caution here! As you read various articles and squeeze pages from some BANS affiliates, you need to put it all in perspective. If they say that they are making a $1,000.00 a week consistently with 10 sites, they generally are guilty of embellishment (Trying to be kind). My own personal goal is to average $2.00 a day per site. As you put up more BANS sites, which is the main idea, by shear volume, you will then have a nice residual income. There are a small number of individuals that really hit on an undiscovered and lucrative niche, and hit it big, but thus far mine are very close to hitting the goals. BANS affiliates were previously serviced by Commission Junction which worked very well. eBay decided to set up eBay Partners Network (EPN), and administer their own affiliate program. Some individuals felt that they weren’t getting credit for all of their clicks and sales, and filed complaints. I watched mine closely and I feel that it was a very smooth transition for me, with no apparent problems. There just isn’t sufficient space here to tell you all of the benefits of BANS, and the income potential if you really work at it. I could probably write a book on my experiences with BANS, but perhaps another day.
As I mentioned above, regarding not placing Google Adsense on a Bans’s site, there have been many instances of sites being de-indexed by Google, for being a thin affiliate site. However, I think the de-indexing was due more to the lack of relevant content on the site, and not so much the Google Adsense. After all, if you strip out the affiliate eBay pages, what’s left if you have no relevant content? Until I am able to study this further, I will err on the side of caution, and not use Google Adsense. I have been placing five to ten relevant articles on each Bans site, plus obtaining inbound links from directories & social bookmarking, & thus far all is well.
After a review of the Bans script, and as a user for about ten months, I endorse this product and have no hesitation in recommending it. When you purchase the program, you also have full use of their excellent forum, where free help and advice is always available. Additionally, you will find services and templates available from other members, at very low prices. The actual cost of the Bans program is very reasonable in price, and that cost can be recovered very quickly by a few eBay sales. Don’t delay, join many others that have set up eBay stores and are enjoying a nice income.

How To Select The Right Internet Marketing Online Affiliate Program
September 25, 2008
Are you someone who is interested in making money online? But you do not actually have a product or service, which you feel people will want. Then it may be about time that you considered getting involved in affiliate programs. However, when it comes to selecting what is the right one for you can seem quite tricky, because there are just so many to choose from. In this article, we provide some advice on things to look for when selecting the right kind of internet marketing online affiliate program.
There are a number of reasons why people are now becoming involved in the various different types of affiliate programs. Some people do this simply so that they are able to earn an income online through legal methods. Whilst others would like to put all their marketing efforts to much better use and hopefully at the end of the day, earn much better money because of it.
Tip 1 - When looking at the various affiliate programs now available it is best to select those that offer you good training facilities (whether it is on or offline). Also ones that provide all their affiliates which plenty of support and resources that will assist them in the beginning and throughout the time they intend to run this online business.
Tip 2 - Rather than just going for those programs that offer their affiliates high commissions on sales, it is a good idea to look at the smaller ones as well. You need to remember that you will have to put in as much effort to a program where there are huge commissions available as you would with the much smaller ones.
Tip 3 - Another good kind of program to consider getting involved in are those that offer you the chance to earn residual commissions. These kinds of sites will offer you the chance to earn further commissions with them should any of your customers who have purchased from the previously return to the site once more and purchase other goods from them.
Tip 4 - Look for those affiliate programs, which have a good tracking system in place so you can see exactly how well you are marketing that particular product for them. If they do not have such a system in place, it makes it much more difficult for you to actually be able to work out what parts of your marketing campaign are working and which are not. If you are able to see quickly the results of your marketing campaign and find that it is not, you will then be able to make the necessary changes, which will help to improve the situation.
Tip 5 - When first starting to use any kind of affiliate programs to make money online it is best to avoid any kinds of products that have been untested. You are far better off going with those that have a proven track record and will help you to avoid some of the many scams that people will try online.
In this article, we have offered you a few tips that should hopefully assist you when it comes to selecting the right internet marketing online affiliate program for you. By keeping these in mind you will be able to find exactly what you want and hopefully start to achieve your goals of earning money online.
Three kinds of Website Traffic
September 19, 2008
Where does traffic come from? Now I’m not talking about that stuff we all get stuck in during rush hour. Website traffic is essential, if you have no traffic to your website you are not going to get anyone buying your products or reading your articles. Traffic is one of the key components of your website and is available in these three forms.
1. Pay For It.
You can buy traffic typically using what is known as Pay Per Click advertising. The major names in this market are Google and their AdWords program and Yahoo Network Sponsored Search. There are many smaller companies around also but they all follow the same premise.
You create your account, grab a bunch of keywords and create your adverts. You can define the amount you want to spend per click or per day, what geographical areas you want your adverts to appear in and even what time they should appear.
When someone types one of your keywords into for example Google your advert will be displayed down the right hand side of the natural search results. If the searcher then chooses to click on your advert and gets forwarded to your website you will get charged for that click.
The price you pay for each individual click depends on a variety of conditions such as how many other people are competing on that keyword. The more competition the more it costs to be higher up the ranks. The position you want to occupy. The percentage of people who click on your advert, the list goes on.
Pay Per Click advertising can be very successful but has a steep learning curve, it is essential that you do lots of research into your chosen Pay Per Click vender and in the niche you are in.
2. Borrow It.
This option is not for everyone, but in certain niches it can be effective. The first method of borrowing traffic is what is called link exchange. This is where you put links to another website on your site and they put links back to you on theirs. This can be beneficial as you can get traffic from a more successful website reasonably quickly. However this traffic is not always targeted.
The second option in the affiliate marketing world is called a joint venture or a JP. This is essentially where you would contact another marketer or company who had products that complements yours. If they are interested they may send a mailing out to their list or put an entry in their blog alerting their visitors about you and your relevant products.
The key things to remember about borrowing traffic is that you have to give something in return. This can make it tricky when targeting very successful websites.
3. Create It.
Creating your own traffic is one of the best ways to start bringing people into your website. There are literally hundreds of ways to start creating your traffic but I’m just going to tell you about two of the most popular.
Article marketing is a great way of generating traffic. You can write your articles about your chosen niche, offering advice, definitions, explanations, news, reviews just to name a few. Once you have created your articles you can put them on your website or blog as content. You can also upload them to article directories or even assemble a few of them into a white paper or ebook to give away to visitors.
Video is currently the big thing on the internet world. Everywhere you look there are videos for everything. 50% of all web traffic is video and YouTube alone receives 12.5% of all the traffic out there. YouTube has made it possible for anyone to upload their videos for the whole world to see. Just as you can create an article about anything you can do the same thing with video. The best option is to do both: Create it in print and create it in video.
Internet Marketing Techniques For The Small Business Owner
September 19, 2008
By Claire Bullerwell
A small business may not have the manpower or resources as a large corporation but with current technology and a broadband internet access, a small business owner can scale up and play with the big boys. Internet marketing for a small business can be affordable and reach the right type of prospects.
The bare minimum for any small business is internet presence via a website.A well layed out web site illustrates what the business can offer, easily loads and is easily navigable. The colors on the web site should be easy on the eyes, and not to interfere with the text on the page. The aim is to inform the internet user about the business and what it offers. The website must not only sell the business but also itself, making the interested browser wanting to keep coming back to the page.
A website address should also be easy to remember, as well as easy to find. There are many original ways to name a web site, as long as it still sounds similar to the business name.Finding the web site from the beginning requires search engine optimization.
Depending on the services or merchandise being offered, a shopping cart may or may not be added to the site.E-commerce payment options would include bank transfers, postal money orders, credit card or checks. For these, there are third-party plug-ins from the internet.
When a buyer searches the internet for a product, he uses a search engine like Google or Yahoo! Search engine optimization is a process where the website is developed and prepared in order to have good web-site search results.
A more interactive internet marketing tool is a blog. A blog (short for “web log”) gives the blogger and small business owner a promotional venue for products and services. It can also show the small business owner’s technical skill on the business. Or be a marketing tool describing the latest specials or promotional offers.
PPC search engine internet marketing (ppc=pay per click) is a very favorable form of advertising for small and large businesses wanting to advertise online. It is exceptionally cost-effective and you can test your marketing/promotional ads out for very little money.
Podcasting is a relatively small niche which the small business owner can avail of. However, not all businesses are a good fit for podcasting. A travel agency, a flower shop, or a bookstore podcast would entice the listeners to availing of the services the business offers.A pod-cast on a specific topic area would help promote technical consultancy services.
An affiliate network is a more advanced form of marketing tool for a small business. An affiliate network gives the small business a relatively quick way of expanding reach and acquiring website traffic. In it’s simplest form, affiliate network is a form of commission based selling. The affiliate earns by either sending internet user (also called “traffic”) to the business website. There are countless forms of commission schemes based on page views, clicks and actual sales.
Another advantage of this tool is that the business owner does not have to manage the affiliates, aside from writing commission checks. The affiliates sign up on their own and can then add the banners and ads to their websites/blogs. There are third-party sites which do the tracking for affiliate networks which cater to specific products and services.
However, there are so many affiliate programs on the Net today, affiliates are getting very choosey when deciding on the best affiliate programs to join in order to receive the best commission available.
It would then be up to the affiliates to market and advertise the small business’ products/service. One popular method is affiliate article marketing which is really taking off at the moment.Affiliate marketers will then write and distribute articles to advertise and promote products.
Even though the tools and methods for internet marketing could have varying degrees of technical know-how needed, these tools are available. The small business owner can choose which tool is appropriate for his business in terms of reach, target market and internet presence. The small business owner is not limited to the immediate community and dependent on traditional methods of reaching out to the market.

Reseller Hosting Account Can Be Best Value Option
September 19, 2008
In this day and age when the internet and websites seem to be all around, there is little doubt about the broad reach and the power of the world wide web. Daily, there are eager entrepreneurs ready to start their internet businesses so they can start making money online. In order to do that, they need web server hosting for their websites, and reseller hosting plans are especially popular for newcomers to internet businesses.
In order for a website to be displayed it must be “hosted” on a special type of computer called a server, which is connected and accessible to the world wide web on a constant basis. Having a web server hosting account allows the person to post their web pages on their host server, which makes them available to the internet community. There are many different types of hosting accounts available, from free webhosting to managed dedicated servers, but the most popular type that people who are starting a web business look for is low priced, web hosting.
Even though some people might think that free webhosting is the best way to go for a new online business that is not yet bringing in any income, the reality is that there are some downsides to relying on these free plans. One of the problems is that most of the free web hosting companies place banner advertising on all webpages that they host, making reseller hosting a better option if you don’t want your website visitors distracted.
Another major problem with the free webhosting companies is their reliability. In many cases, these free, web server hosting companies have trouble with their equipment and their internet connection, which means the sites are not available for periods of time. This can also be a problem with some of the cheaper web hosting providers, and is frequently an issue with the free services.
It pays to read read a reseller hosting review before committing yourself as they can offer an insight. You can always read reviews at PLR Articles.
When it comes to your hosting plan, you can expect to get what you pay for. If your website needs are minimal, then you will probably be satisfied with a cheaper, web hosting plan, as long as you check out the reliability of the company first. As the needs of your website grows and the server load and traffic demand becomes higher, you may need to seek out better web hosting plans, to ensure that your website is always up, is fully functional and is loading quickly for your visitors.
Anyone who spends any time on the internet knows that people expect websites to load quickly and without any problems. Often people do not have the patience to wait for a page to load if it takes more than a couple of seconds to display. With so many websites to visit, it is estimated that a viewer will only wait a few seconds for any site to load, before moving on to another site that will. As a result, if you have a lot of graphics, video files and/or Flash animations, and are getting a lot of website visitors, then you could easily outgrow the capacity of a low priced, web hosting package.
If you are in a situation where you need to find reseller hosting because your business is new and you need to keep costs down, then make sure you check the track record of the hosting company before you start to build your website. Also, working with a web server hosting company that offers low-cost plans, mid-range plans, and plans that provide dedicated hosting services is a good indication that they are a provider that will be able to grow with your business.
Newbie Affiliate Marketing Tips -5 Things You Should Know
September 19, 2008
The economy is really getting to most people now. This is not an American problem anymore. It is affecting the entire world. Yesterday, Lehman Brothers closed their doors and as I watched the news, I saw executives with boxes of personal stuff coming through the doors for the last time. Some say, when interviewed, that they did not see this coming.
Once the housing market started going down, it was a certainty that this too would follow. So people are frantically looking for a means to replace their income and the Internet is the driving force. But what do you do when you have relied on a weekly income by a company to now rely on something so much more uncertain.
If you are new to the Internet, you will have to know that there are Internet Marketers that have already secured their place in the market. However, that does not mean that you cannot find your own niche. In fact, that is how you will be successful online and finding your own niche is the key.
Your next step is to become an affiliate, which means that you are going to sell somebody else’s product. You have no time to create your own especially if you are at the point of desperation.
However, there are 5 simple questions that you must ask yourself before you begin to tread on this holy ground:
1. What kind of value does the product have?
You want to sell a product that you can put your reputation on. You don’t want to sell something that you cannot stand on. So do your research and find out if the product owner has a valid refund policy and how many average monthly refunds have been received.
2. Is this an automated program?
You want to be involved with an affiliate program that you don’t have to provide any type of customer support. You also want to have good marketing resources from the product owner. You want to market a digital product that customers can easily download upon purchase. You want to get paid automatically and be rewarded for the sales that you make.
3. Is it possible to earn residual income?
I do market other programs that are not residual, but I find that these are only one time purchases. You may not see that customer again. However, residual income, which is also called passive income, is better because once you get that customer and the customer is satisfied with the product or service, this will be your customer for as long as they stay subscribed and you get commissions from what they pay monthly over and over again. It is quite similar to an insurance salesman. Once he or she sells that policy, they gain residual income for the lifetime of the customer. The Internet also has affiliate programs with residual income opportunities.
Life Time Commissions is an affiliate directory that lists a variety of different residual income. You can search for the name online.
4. Is the product something that I would enjoy selling or believe in?
If you have knowledge about something, you are more apt to want to present it to someone. It is like watching a movie and loving the movie so much that you tell everyone you know about the movie and you are not even getting paid to do that. Can you imagine getting the word out for something that you really enjoy or like? This is how you should choose your affiliate product because it will make you want to stay committed and focused in your marketing efforts.
5. Is there any assistance or support provided?
