What I really like about affiliate marketing is that I don’t have to even think about all the other aspects of running a business. These other areas consist of all the customer service issues like refunds, customer questions, and all the other time consuming tasks. It’s just marketing the product and then getting the commission.
But of course there’s always the downside with anything, including making affiliate marketing sales. One being that it’s not your product and you have no control of how it’s sold and for what price. You just represent the product and you hope the merchant has done his or her job with all the other important issues to make the sale.
So what can you do to increase affiliate marketing sales and net profits? I’m going to show you 3 methods to help better yourself at Internet affiliate marketing.
1- Align yourself with only the very best Internet affiliate marketing programs.
You’re not going to have a problem finding an affiliate program, but rather picking the correct one will be the challenge. Here’s some important information to think about:
A: Do business with Merchant’s that are willing to compensate you fairly. I really don’t want to deal with anyone that isn’t going to pay me at least half. Hey, they might have a great product, but if it wasn’t for you getting the targeted prospects to their site, they wouldn’t be in business. You’re worth a lot to them and you should be paid accordingly.
So expect them to pay you what you’re worth. There are a lot of smart merchant’s that understand this and they on the average pay more than 50%
B: Are they reputable, do what they say, and pay out when they say they will? Good affiliate programs will pay you on time and on a consistent time interval such as monthly or bi-monthly.
Please make sure you read the fine print of an affiliate programs requirements. You might make some sales, but never get paid for a long time because they require a minimum accumulation of revenue before they will disperse the funds. Most really good Internet affiliate marketing programs have no or low minimums for affiliate marketing sales.
Some good advice would be to make sure you can meet their requirements. If you don’t think you can, just find a program that you can do. It’s up to you and with the many choices, you can find one right for you.
C: Does the customer service meet your expectations?
You are representing a company when you market their products. Your reputation is on the line and what they do is a reflection on you. Make sure they represent you well.
I suggest you become a customer of the company you want to represent. Buy one of their products and evaluate the whole selling process. See how the transaction went and if the product is really all that they make it up to be. Then go ahead and return it and see how they treat you. If you want to really market this product with confidence and some passion, then this is a must do.
2-Work on an opt in mailing list
If you build your own list, you will really be able to consistently make more affiliate marketing sales.
So why is that you ask?
Because building a subscriber list will help you make more affiliate marketing sales with greater conversion rates.
It’s really important to build a list of loyal and trusting subscribers. If you can accomplish this with your list, you will make good affiliate marketing sales consistently.
I can’t really talk about all that is involved on this topic, so I’ll give you a brief overview of what it takes to build a list.
A: Write or have written quality information in the form of a report or mini-course. If it is on a hot topic or solves a lot of peoples problems, people will want to know about it
B: Make yourself an opt in page that will entice your prospect to want to opt in for your information.
C: Deliver relevant useful information to your subscribers and they will trust you and want to stay on your list.
D: While you are helping them with your information, you can start sending them relevant offers of affiliate products that would further help them. Since they trust you and your recommendations, they will be more likely to respond to your offer, if of course, the products are relevant to the subject of your list and help to solve your subscribers’ problems
3- Ask the affiliate program for a better piece of the profit.
Ask the merchant for a greater portion of the sale of the affiliate marketing sales. I’m sure they don’t want to lose you as as an affiliate so they might agree and you might just be able to make more with each sale.
