Discover the True Purpose Behind Free For All Sites

by Rachel Rae

For those of you who don’t know what an FFA site is, it’s basically a website where you can post a link/add to your website for free. Generally it is also posted to many other sites at the same time and hopefully somebody sees your link…free advertising in other words. This also creates backlinks to your website. When you post a link, you are also giving permission (whether you know it or not) to receive confirmation e-mails back from the site owner.

For people new to all this however, it can be baffling. Sometimes they are angry when they not only do not see a flood of sales coming their way from their posting, but they start receiving other people’s offers instead. It can be quite frustrating for a newbie.

Let’s back up a moment and look at the bigger picture of what an FFA site is and its TRUE purpose. The true purpose of an FFA site is for the owner of that site to promote his/her business. It’s really not just because he’s a nice guy giving people a free advertising place. (If it were such a goldmine for pulling in sales, he would be doing it himself). That is just the bait, getting people to his site to post their links, thinking they are getting free advertising, so he can respond with “confirmation” of your link, and his business ad.

The confirmation emails you receive are not considered spam, as you had agreed to receive them for the privilege of posting on their site. Who reads these ads anyways? Is posting to FFA’s a total waste of time then? Not necessarily, as you will get an occasional sale, people do go back and post repeated ads and sometimes take a quick look while trying to see where their links are.

So how do you really use them for your benefit? Get your own FFA site to promote your business. There are many excellent ones out there, shop around to find which you like best. Many offer free or paid upgrade versions and the phrase “you get what you pay for” comes to mind. I’ve used several kinds and found the paid upgrades more than paid for themselves.

Just about anything can be promoted through FFA sites, informational products, vitamins, physical products, you name it. You need traffic coming to your site for sales whatever it is your selling. Without it, no sales. These sites provide a means for visitors to find your site. Classified ad sites work basically the same and can also be another avenue to explore for traffic.

Increasing Referrals Is Easier Than You Think

by Vincent Newton

Noways, people are very selfish. They do not have time to worry about the needs of other people. This is why online retailers must use innovative strategies to ensure their website generates referrals.

Here’s why your referral program may not be working…

Convincing your visitors to invite their friends is not an easy task. Most people barely have enough time to focus on their own needs, not to mention yours.

Unless you are dangling a pretty good incentive out there that pushes your customers’ instant gratification button, guess what? You’re going to find that many of your otherwise loyal buyers aren’t going to take time to contact their circle of friends and help you make a sale.

Offering cash incentives may seem like a could idea, but…

Let’s face it, everybody likes money. However, offering cash in exchange for referrals may not be your best option. Most people feel uneasy about making money from their friends.

Automatic Redirect Is The Solution

What if you could instantly reward customers who provide referrals with low-cost, high perceived-value Free Gifts?

You need to instantly reward your visitors. Your visitor tells his friends about your website, and boom, he is immediately rewarded for his efforts.

And even better, what if you could do it automatically? How would you like to set up your referral program one time and never have to touch it again?

Think about this, your visitors invites their friends to your website by importing their contacts from their favorite web mail service. This is the best strategy.

That is EXACTLY the way that web sites like MySpace? and FaceBook? work. They have their own “Friend” adding programs that have been wildly responsible for building huge membership lists in a very short time.

Website Traffic: Getting The Right Visitors

by Jill Brennan

People talk incessantly about – gaining more website traffic – but they rarely mention that a site really needs targeted website traffic. The only way to have a successful site is to court targeted website traffic — or people who keep coming back to your site, visiting one page after another.

Your site might be pretty and interesting, but the information is useless unless the information is useful to the person reading it. For example: when you browse a book at Amazon.com, you see a list of other books people have bought in that same category. From that list, you might decide to buy again — you’ve just been targeted.

Now, targeted website traffic doesn’t mean guaranteed traffic — just a strong possibility of more website traffic. You don’t want to lure anyone and everyone to your site. Internet loiterers take up space.

Internet loiterers, while harmless, do nothing for sales. You might have a hundred people visit your site, but only ten of them actually buy anything.

The starting point for building traffic is to look at the keywords that you’re using on your site and then see what keywords visitors are using to search. Words are the starting point for any internet search. If someone wanted to find soft dice they could hang from the rear view mirro in their car then they will type related words into a search engine.

This is why you’ll often hear internet marketers talking about ‘getting inside the head of the prospect’. What would they type into a search engine in order to find fuzzy dice? Would it be “car dice”, “furry dice”, “soft hanging dice”? Or some other variation that you’ve never thought of? Picking the right keywords is about improving your chances of success.

So what else are you selling along with your fuzzy hanging rearview mirror car dice? You can’t get targeted website traffic if you don’t know who you’re targeting, so figure out just what kind of site you have. Should car dice should be sold at a car accessories site, a weird gifts site, or a kitsch site? They should be sold on a site that has other merchandise that will appeal to the fuzzy dice people-like fuzzy steering wheel covers, or even animal print clothing, if it’s a retro shop. That approach will get you more website traffic.

Targeted website traffic is like playing the stock market — you can make predictions based on careful research, but you will never know exactly whether your predictions will translate into sales. All you can do is increase the odds of driving more website traffic to your site through targeting your audience.

How To Build Link Popularity Immediately

by Hayden Linoturn

The top 3 search engines are MSN, Yahoo and Google – and all three think that having links from outside sites pointing to your sites is one of the most important “ranking factors”. Commenting is always available on blogs. So to build links, you’ll read the article to make sure it’s relevant to your website. Then you’ll find the ‘Comments’ link and add a comment about the blog post.

In the comment area, there are usually three areas to fill out. These are Name, URL and email address. Make sure the URL field has your complete website URL in it so you actually get a link from the blog you are posting a comment on.

The bigger box is for you to actually input the comment you want to add. Never, ever spam the blog you are trying to get a link from because they will probably just delete your comment.

Ensure that whatever comment you leave, it’s relevant and useful. Read their article and if you have another point to add, do so. You can also ask a question or compliment the blog author.

Once your comment is complete, hit the “Submit” button. Some blogs will publish your comment immediately and you will be able to see it, and your link, right away. Some blogs will hold your comment for manual approval by the blog owner; in this case, you may receive a message that your comment is being held in moderation.

Get your Site Indexed by Google

by Mark Hall

Attention: If you are already listed with Google then if you offer once again, you site would not get listed quicker. If you are trying to locate the page where you have to submit your site, simply search ‘Google submit’ in Google. Understandably, their page would be the first to feature on the list but there are other ways which can be deployed to make your site stand out and get picked up by them.

Google can index your site fast if you have links with other sites which have heavy traffic. Perhaps the quickest and the most successful way is to use the advantages of online directories. When your site is tagged with links from high ranking directories you get indexed faster since Google routinely examines these top directories.

The choice is between free and paid subscription directories and you have to pick your choice depending on the money available. Any business directory which operates with the same kind of interest area as your business is the best bet since Google pays a lot of importance to similarity before indexing your site. The area of operation between your site and the business directory ought to be common.

If you are looking forward to getting high ranking from Google then it is crucial that you get listed in DMOZ also referred to as an Open Directory. This is not the way in which you can accelerate the speed which Google takes to notice you. DMOZ would take their time, weeks or months before you get listed. The reason for this is that every site is checked by a category editor personally and your site could be down below in the queue. One vital point to remember when submitting sites to DMOZ is that you must ensure that you read, understand and follow every piece of guideline and instructions to the tee.

You could also submit articles to the relevant sites and get indexed by Google. Mostly all important and successful article sites would allow the author to add a small resource box called ‘About the Author’ or ‘Author Resource’. It is here that you add the critical link to your site.

If the articles are good, then your articles could also be chosen by other sites for inclusion and this is another advantage of writing articles. [s19 This is done when they carry your author resource box also as this is your key to a free link to your site. That is another opportunity to get noticed by Google and if your articles are in line with your line of business, you would get increased amount of site traffic.

Traffic Generation Techniques

by Eddie Watkins

The importance of traffic cannot be overemphasized, and traffic generation techniques are of extreme importance to the future of your online business. Why? Because without visitors you might as well have no website at all.

The main reason you have a website is to get traffic. Let’s look at your website as though it was a physical store. It doesn’t matter what your products are, automobiles, books, furniture, or paper plates, if no one enters your place of business, you won’t be open for long. You must advertise your physical store, just as you must promote your online store. Traffic to your website is the same as customer walking in to your restaurant.

If you are not receiving website traffic, your online business will not succeed, as the shoe store without customers would have to close down. So how do you go about getting the traffic, that is the life blood of your online business? We will look at four different ways of obtaining the traffic that you need to your website.

1. Search engines 2. Online advertising 3. Offline advertising 4. Word of mouth, or buzz advertising.

We don’t have the time or space to go over all the techniques that you are probably use to hearing about. So let’s have a look at a couple of ways that are not talked about much but are very productive traffic generation techniques.

Search Engines

SEO and search engines are not the same thing. There is a lot of studying and reading in order to use SEO on your website. But with search engine you can benifit while receiving traffic your website, with less aggravation.

Smart pages is one technique that is used. Smart pages are created using keywords that people use in order to get information on the web. You create as many of these pages as you can using different keywords. Your visitors never see these pages, even though the spider can find these smart pages when they search the web. There is software that you can purchase to create these pages so you won’t end up with duplicate webpages.

When a person does a search using one of the search engines, and they use a certain keyword. The keyword that the individual is looking for has already been indexed with your page connected to that keyword. So you would think that the person would be directed to your indexed page. But they are directed to the landing page that the software has been programmed for. You can create as many of these smart pages as you like, and the visitor is sent to whatever page the software is programmed for.

If you have certain information on your web site pertaining to certain keywords you can use this among other techniques to get the search engines to send visitors to your webpages.

Online Advertising

When advertising online there are a few option that a person can take advantage of. If you have a Facebook page, you can get free links from it. You can also get free links from your post that you put on Twitter. In my opinion the best priced pay-per-click option that you have is to go with Searchfeed. Searchfeed charges 1 cent for pay-per-click advertising, and that is a great deal compared to Adwords.

Classified Advertising

When advertising any product, any traffic that you can drum up is good traffic. Go to your local free newspaper, put an ad in it advertising your website URL. This has been proven to be a great technique for getting traffic to ones site. Sending out flyers through to mail, you can purchase mailing list on peel and stick labels of people that are interested in online business opportunities. Post cards are a great source of visitors to your website. Sometimes we forget that advertsing offline can be just as rewarding as advertsing online.

Buss Advertising

Whether you know it or not, people are out there looking for your products. Talk about your website to everyone, to your relatives, your friends and family. You have to place yourself in front of your potential customers. Send out flyers, mail postcards, place an ad in your local newspaper advertising your products. People are always looking for a product that is going to solve a certain problem that they have, or an easier way to do a certain thing, and this is your opportunity to feel that void. Get the word out.

The importance of website traffic to your online business is critical and once you have tried the conventional advertising methods, try some of the traffic generation techniques outlined above: who knows? It might be what is needed to give your traffic a boost.

If you don’t have and use the proper traffic generation techniques, you will not receive the proper amount of traffic. And without traffic your online business will suffer.

Search Engine Optimization for Total Beginners

by Rachel Ray

Google and other search engines are the gateway to your business, and getting high page ranks somewhere in the first page of listings, is important for driving business to your site. There are companies out there that will promise you the moon, the stars, and, by the way, page rankings so high that you’ll cheerfully pay them hundreds of dollars every month for their services.

Finding tried and true ways to get organic traffic meaning being found during a regular search, not by pay per click ads as seem on the right column of the listing, is the best and most solid way to build your web site’s traffic long term. Here’s what search engine optimization boils down to:

1. Content, content, content. You need real content on your web, this is content that has real meaning to real people, not just stuffing a bunch of keywords that make no sense. Search engines use programs called web crawlers or web spiders that list web sites. The one thing those web crawlers looks for is content. They figure out if a site has content by tracing keyword phrases. This is why search engine optimization usually starts by picking keywords and writing content around them; many web site marketing experts advocate writing a high density of the same keywords, but doing too much of this can actually work against you.

2. Link backs provide validation. The more links leading back to your site, particularly links that are in contextually appropriate content, the higher your page ranking will be. Ways to get these link backs range from link exchanges with other companies in related marketing niches, to having articles about the topic or niche you’re selling to with links back to your site, to social networking sites and Squidoo Lenses.

3. Updated and fresh content. This is important both for your human visitors as well as the web spiders. When both see there’s new content added at least 3 times a week, they will be more likely to come back more often. It takes an average of seven visits before someone will purchase a product or post on a forum, so it’s important to give both reason to return to your site.

4. Web structures that make sense. Your web site should have clearly structured navigational links, your landing page or front page should have links to everything else on the site.

5. Text means everything. The search engine spiders ignore Javascript and graphics and until recently couldn’t read text in Flash animations. If the spiders can’t read these items, it doesn’t help your page rankings at all. So you need plenty of real content on your site.

The real secret of long term success in search optimization is to make your web site as usable as you can. Make it easy to navigate for real people, who want to read about your niche, and with content that makes them come back.
