Amazing Tips For Creating Profitable Information Products! Part 1
Information products are a hot trend on the Internet, and it’s no surprise. The Internet lets your clients find relevant, timely information on any subject, at any time. Where else can you find so much information at your fingertips?
Bookstores contain a great deal of information; however, it is not simple to find information on a specific topic. Let’s say I want to learn how to record and edit an interview, which I plan on selling through my website. At the local bookstore, I have to wade through dozens of books on audio engineering, personal skills, Website management whew! It’s much easier to find this kind of information on the Internet, even in video format.
Another problem with buying information at the book store is that its information is at least one year old. That is how long it takes to edit a book, send it to a publisher, get it printed and finally placed on the shelves in your local book store. By contrast, an ebook or other information product will usually have the latest, slicing edge info on your topic because they are so easily updated.
Information products help to boost my world wide web sales, and they can help you, too. Information products include e-books, videos, and special reports. But they also include things like tele-seminars. Membership sites and subscriptions to paid newsletters are great ways to make the most of information technology.
How can you get started creating your own information product?
Start by finding your niche – figure out what your customers want.
Yes, it sounds simplistic, but give it some serious thought. What they want and what you think they want might be two different things. You’re knowledgeable about your topic, and that knowledge can help you to create an exceptional product. But before you begin, you need to understand that your customers don’t have your knowledge. They might be asking different questions. The measure of your success is the measure of how well you answer their questions.
So, while you are collecting their first name and email, add a custom field that asks their biggest question about your topic. After about 100 email subscribers, you’ll have a really good idea what it is they are looking for! And you can use that information to write your sales letter as well.
