How To Correctly Use Squeeze Pages to Build Your Opt-in Lists
Squeeze pages or reseller pages are simple, effective and short web pages that have just one objective – to build your opt-in list and, optionally redirect the visitor to one of your own sales page or an affiliate page. Squeeze pages, if done properly, is a great way to capture your visitors name and email address BEFORE they are shown (or redirected to) the actual sales message.
Point out benefits – Make sure to highlight the benefits of signing up. You want to make this an offer they cannot refuse. Use picture and bullet points to highlight the benefits. Features tell but benefits sell. Instead of focusing on features, tell the benefit for each and every feature of your product or service.
Follow through on what you say – Make sure that when you say something that you can back it up. If you say you will only send one email per month then only send one email per month. If you do not follow through then you will lose their confidence and likely their subscription to your list. Tell in advance what they will get by subscribing to your list. Also tell them what they are going to lose if they unsubscribe in every email you send. People cannot stand losing anything, even if they do not want that thing.
Explain how to they can use your offer – Let them know how useful this will be to them. Tell them how you are an expert and quite knowledgeable so you will be giving them something of value that they can get a lot of use out of. Supposing you are giving private label rights to one of your publications, tell them what they can do with those rights. In other words, explain “What’s In It For Me”. The benefits your visitor gets when he or she subscribes.
Have a target market – The biggest mistakes marketers make is to target the entire world or a very broad category. Narrow your audience and target a specific niche. You are more likely to get signups. You may have to do some market research so you can define your target market.
Make your headline grab attention – The headline is one of the most important factors of your page. It needs to be exciting so that a visitor will want to continue reading. In other words, your headline is an ad for the rest of your content. Take time and develop a powerful and hypnotic headline that makes the reader continue to read the rest of your copy and ultimately signup to your opt-in list.
Keep it simple – Do not make your page more complex than it has to be. Be upfront and straight forward. Avoid any extravagance and just keep it neat and easy to read. The content should be written typically to a high-school student. Use short sentences and many paragraphs. Bullet points are very effective in highlighting the most important points and enhances the look and feel of your squeeze page.
Make copy the right length – Do not ramble on if you do not need to. Make sure you make it long enough, though. Include the information you need to and forget the fluff. Ideally squeeze pages are just enough to fit into the first fold of the page. In other words, let the entire squeeze page fit into the visible portion of your page when viewed in a browser, without having to use the scroll button.
