Your Attitude Is Everything When Building An Opt In Email List

I’m sure you want to have a business that lasts for the long haul. There’s a lot involved in running a business, but you want to run it to make money day in and day out maximizing your profits while minimizing your work load. One way you can to this for the success of your business is by building an opt in email list. You can talk to just about anyone who is doing well online and they will tell you that building an opt in email list and monetizing it effectively often becomes their bread and butter.

You learn all the great information on list building from your research and your ready to give it a go. You start using all the methods like a mad man (or mad woman) and you actually build a list, but then it stops right there. You have the list, but you still can’t monetize it. Everybody says it’s so easy, but you feel like you’re wasting your time.

In fact you might even be losing money, because of all the expenses to building an opt in email list and maintain that list is more than the profits that you bring in from it.

You sit there and think to yourself that everybody says that their money is in the list. Well you might angrily decide that it’s just for those really successful Internet marketers, but you have to settle for failure of building an opt in email lists that profits and you just give it up and leave it for something else.

Please…..don’t give up on it cause there’s hope. It might seem to you like an impossibility, but having and building a targeted email list is a crucial part of your business success. Just roll up your sleeves and really learn how to do it and do it right. If you’re persistent, you will be able to do it and you’ll be really glad you did.

So what are the challenges holding you back from building an opt in email list? I’m sure you’re already aware that there are many factors that are involved in successfully building an opt in email list and then monetizing it correctly. Other’s have written whole courses and books on the details of this subject, but for the purposes of this article, I’m going to explain how you should be thinking even before you use any list building techniques. If you don’t have these certain approaches, when building an opt in email list, all the techniques in the world won’t help you.

This all-important ingredient is the foundation for your success in building an opt in email list. I’ll call it your mindset or the way you approach building a list. There are three very important mindsets that you need to implement in building an email list the right way.

1-It really quality-not quantity.

It might take more effort and thought to methodically attract and add quality subscribers to your list, but it is worth every ounce of sweat to building an opt in email list that’s responsive. Have the mindset of only attracting quality. You may have a smaller list, but even a small highly responsive list will outperform a much larger low quality list any day of the week.

But of course building quality requires more effort and expertise than just building an opt in email list with anyone on that list. I’m not going to go into detail of the how’s of building as much as sticking with the foundation or mindset for having a targeted email list.

2-Another mindset is having the approach that you have only ONE person on your list. When building an opt in email list many marketers talk to their list broadcasting to them like a news anchor giving the evening news on TV. Please….Don’t do it!

Just be personable and when you are writing an email you are writing it for just one person. You want them to feel that you are there for them (of course you should be) and you really want to help them. They are on your list for your expertise and help you can provide them. Never give the impression that you are too big and important for your prospects.

If you do this when building an opt in email list, you’ll be will light years ahead of most businesses.

3-Learn to build for that one perfect prospect and use that system over and over. What I mean by this is to build the squeeze pages, landing pages, marketing and advertising to attract the most targeted prospect. When you have perfected this process, keep doing it over and over.

Do you know who Ray Crock is? He’s the founder of McDonalds. What a master at applying this mindset. He built and tweaked his restaurant till he was maximizing the profits he was earning. And when he had a winning system, he multiplied the winning concept over and over in the form of franchises.

It’s absolutely a waste of time to just haphazardly pull prospects from anywhere, thinking they will eventually act on your offers. They won’t and you’ll be frustrated. It takes some work to building an opt in email list the right way, but it will be well worth it.

Some concluding thoughts. Building an opt in email list is created with one person at a time. It’s best to focus on the one and do that with everyone on your list. Don’t act like your a huge business. You might well be big and successful, but don’t act so big that your prospects can’t connect with you. You need to always be personable and approachable.
